CELEBRITY
Travis Kelce might have been without Taylor Swift at the 150th Kentucky Derby but he certainly didn’t forget about her as he bought some shiny jewellery for his girlfriend, but how much did it cost?
The Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end was spotted making pals with Jimmy Fallon and The Chainsmokers at the highly prestigious horse-racing event but ensured he remembered Swift as she took to the stage to perform in Paris, France.
He did so by picking up a Derby Gold and Diamond Horseshoe Necklace for his pop-star woman, which cost a hefty $1495, although on a salary of $14m that would probably feel like five dollars to him. It was created by S. R. Blackington, who have produced the Derby’s trophy for generations, and was offered as a gift to the three-time Super Bowl champion as a limited-edition design.
“Our family has been making the trophy since 1975,” Susanne and Skyla Blackington told PageSix.com. “And we caught word he would be there and since it was a big year for the both of them. “We wanted to gift a few very special pieces. He was super kind and appreciative!” Produced from 14-karat gold, it’s a valuable piece and it was made in Swift’s honor as she sadly had to skip the celebrity-laden event to prepare for her Eras Tour.
Engraved on the diamond-studded necklace, a message reads, “Wishing you good luck,” which Swift would appreciate as she enjoys small references and hidden Easter Eggs. Swift continues to make waves in the music scene by continuing with her record-breaking Eras Tour that has seen her break the billion dollar mark, making it the best-selling tour ever, along with the film of that same tour which earned a further $250m – also a record for a film on a tour.
Now buoyed by the success of her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, which has also shattered records, the 34-year-old is currently back on tour as she shows herself to be the biggest name in music right now. She’s currently on a trip around Europe and most recently performed in France from May 9-12. So, she has a four-day break before she’s back on stage in Sweden at the Friends Arena in Stockholm from May 17-19. The venue holds 65000 people.
