Secret meanings behind Taylor Swift’s stage outfits: Star wore an incredible 13 costumes at the 100th show of her Eras tour in Liverpool

Taylor Swift’s fandom are nothing if not super sleuths when it comes to discerning clues about her life and upcoming relseases – looking for hints in everything from her lyrics to her outfits. And singer made sure to give her fans plenty to analyse at Anfield last night during the 100th show in her Eras tour, where she performed in front of a 53,000-strong crowd at the Liverpool FC stadium.

The 34-year-old singer went through a total of 13 impressive outfit changes, wowing crowds with her glittering garments – with many reflecting the colour associated with the album the track came from. Fearless is the singer’s second studio album and is represented by gold and black.
Last night the singer wore a re-work of her the glittered fringed dress which she first wore on tour when Fearless was released in 2008.

She paired the gold fringed dress with cowboy boots and a rhinestone bejewelled guitar. When wearing this look, the singer blasted out the lines of some of her most famous songs from the era, including You Belong With Me and Love Story. Taylor’s Folklore album is linked to a dreamy ethereal look with boho dresses that give a perfect swirl when dancing on stage, and grey and silvery colors.

The big belle of the ball gowns make the artist look princess like and usually feature delicate necklines and bulging skirts. In a previous show, the artist wore a dusty purple Alberta Ferretti custom gown which was described by designer as reflecting the ‘lightness, femininity, romance, attention to detail and a delicate, gentle seduction’ of the album.

Last night, the singer wore a floating green dress which was caught delicately by the wind, rising up in a beautiful cascade of leafy green.
When performing the song 22, one of more popular and well known tracks from her Red Album, the singer wore a slogan t-shirt with the lyrics: ‘Who’s Taylor Swift Anyway? Ew’. She teamed the top with black sequinned shorts and a bowler hat, but changed into another red bodysuit for a spot of literal dressing.

The Red album is intended to represent burning passionate love and the singer even had a red microphone to match as she belted out her hits.
The Reputation part of her tour features a snake-embellished one-legged bodysuit from Roberto Cavalli which she wore last night. Taylor took ownership of the snake symbol for her Reputation album and merchandise, referencing her feud with Kim Kardashian which began in 2016.

The Kim and Kanye fall-out happened after the rapper released his song Famous in which he refers to Taylor with the lyric ‘I made that b***h famous’. Taylor claimed that she was never made aware that Kanye would be using the lyric. Shortly after Kim took to Snapchat and posted footage of which appeared to show Taylor consenting to the song lyrics while on speaker phone with Kanye.

‘I’m really glad you had the respect to call me that and tell me that as a friend, about the song. It’s just a really cool thing to do, and a really good show of friendship’ Taylor was heard saying. Before releasing the video clips Kim took to Twitter to note that it was ‘National Snake Day’ which stuck and saw a lot of Kim’s fans plastering the snake emoji all over Taylor’s social media accounts.

During her Reputation tour in 2018, Taylor told fans: ‘A couple of years ago, someone called me a snake on social media and it caught on. I went through some times when I didn’t know if I was gonna get to do this anymore. ‘I wanted to send a message to you guys that if someone uses name calling to bully you on social media and even if a lot of people jump on board with it, that doesn’t have to beat you. It can strengthen you instead.’
