Prince Harry ‘has a problem’ as Duke tries to ‘hide anxiety’ during Nigeria tour: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been ‘courting’ Nigeria for the next Invictus Games destination
A royal expert has claimed that Prince Harry had to ‘try and hide his anxiety’ during his Nigeria visit whilst his wife Meghan Markle ‘smiled’ as a ‘skilled actress.’
It comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex embarked on a tour of the African nation after receiving an invitation from the country’s Chief of Defense Staff. It is thought that the duke is considering Nigeria as a destination for the next Invictus Games and so the opportunity was “great PR for the pair”. Speaking to GB News, royal reporter Kinsey Schofield said: “I do think that Meghan is the skilled, trained actress, and Prince Harry has a bit of a problem hiding some of his anxiety sometimes.
“Meghan being by his side certainly calms him down and helps him out throughout that process. “I mean, I understand that their objective is to court Nigeria for a future Invictus Games. I think that they probably did a great job doing that. “This was great PR for them because if you just Google Meghan Markle today, 90 per cent of the headlines are about how glamorous her wardrobe was, how beautiful she was.
“I lost count of how many times I saw the word ‘glam’, and obviously they wanted positive press out of this and they wanted people to start saying some nicer things about them.” Meghan and Harry’s tour of Nigeria has been successful so far with the couple discussing a range of issues including mental health awareness and parenthood during their engagements. On Saturday, Meghan opened up about her love of motherhood and finding balance in her life. The Sussexes have two children together, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, two.
Meghan said at an event on Women in Leadership that she co-hosted: “Balance will always change for you. That balance, what seemed balanced ten years ago is going to shift. “And so being a mum has always been a dream of mine. I’m so fortunate that we have two beautiful, healthy, very chatty sweet children.” Prince Harry did not see his father King Charles during his UK visit, ahead of the Nigeria
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reunited at Heathrow Airport in London before flying to Abuja, where they visited a school to discuss mental health. Reports claim that Buckingham Palace “did not receive a request” from the Duke to see him. The Duchess of Sussex revealed in 2022 that she is 43 per cent Nigerian which she discovered after doing a genealogy test. She said on her Archetypes podcast: “I’m going to start to dig deeper into all this because anybody that I’ve told, especially Nigerian women, are like ‘What!'”
