Blake Lively once snapped at a reporter who dared to ask about her then-rumored boyfriend — and “Gossip Girl” co-star — Penn Badgley.
While sitting down with New York magazine for a 2008 feature on the CW’s juggernaut teen drama, Lively discussed her upcoming movie “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee,” for which she filmed a kissing scene with Alan Arkin.
“He’s a little bit of an upgrade from Chace [Crawford] and Penn [Badgley],” the “A Simple Favor” star said. “So I’m looking forward to that.”
The comment prompted journalists Jessica Pressler and Chris Rovzar to ask Lively about her real-life relationship with Badgley, who played her on-screen love interest Dan Humphrey, to which she snipped, “I thought this was New York magazine. I thought you were supposed to be classy.”
Reps for Lively didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
Lively’s past interviews have been resurfaced in light of the drama surrounding her and her “It Ends With Us” co-star Justin Baldoni, which purportedly stems from the actress, 36, using the film’s press tour to hawk her new alcohol line and haircare brand instead of discussing the film’s heavy theme of domestic violence.
The “Jane the Virgin” alum, 40, also has come under fire, with sources claiming he “fat-shamed” Lively while on set.
Baldoni allegedly asked an on-set trainer how much his co-star weighed before shooting a scene in which he had to lift her, per TMZ, because he had previously injured his back and wanted to be careful.
Lively, who gave birth to her fourth child with husband Ryan Reynolds just a few months before production began last year, later found out about the actor-director’s alleged comment and felt “bothered” and body-shamed by it, the outlet’s sources said.
