How much money does Patrick Mahomes make? The Chiefs star QB enjoys several endorsement deals: The three-time Super Bowl Champions is NFL’s best paid player ever
Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes signed a ten-year, $477 million contract back in 2020, making him one of the best-paid athletes in the whole world, whose contract at the time was the biggest in North American sports, surpassing the then-record imposed by Mike Trout’s contract with the LA Angels, worth $426.5 million.
Following their Super Bowl victory, Mahomes and the Chiefs demonstrated their strategic prowess by restructuring his contract. This move not only provided the champions with much-needed salary cap space for future signings but also ensured that the star QB’s earnings remained intact.
Quite the opposite, as according to a recent report, Mahomes not only made $45 million in salary last season, but he also another $20 million from his endorsement deals with several brands, including Adidas, Coors Light, State Farm, and Subway, BOSS, T-Mobile & Walmart, amongst others. Also, he made an extra $3.6 million via the NFLPA.
Since his selection as the No. 10 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Mahomes has thrived in Andy Reid’s offense, accumulating impressive stats-28,140 passing yards, 219 passing touchdowns, and 62 interceptions-in his six seasons as the Chiefs’ starter.
After Mahomes extended his contract with the Chiefs after winning his second Super Bowl, players like Jalen Hurst, Justin Herbert and most recently, Joe Burrow, all had record-setting deals done with their respective teams. With the restructured deal, Mahomes is now back as the top-earning signal caller in the NFL, and according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the contract could be worth up to $218 million dollars if incentives are met by the end of the 2026 season.
