Former Chiefs coach Jason Brown joined the conversation, taking a playful at the star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes
The excitement in Kansas City has ramped up with Patrick Mahomes’ return to the Chiefs’ facilities for Organized Team Activities (OTAs). However, the conversation quickly turned to Mahomes’ physique, with lighthearted comments about his “dad bod”.
Former Chiefs coach Jason Brown joined the conversation, taking a playful at the star quarterback. “You gotta wear smaller shorts, or something?” Jason Brown quipped on The Coach JB Show With Big Smitty. “Look at that like he prego… lost weight what a lost weight that looks 235 slop.” Yet, Mahomes has embraced the playful remarks with his usual confidence.
“I definitely have the dad bod a little bit. I’ll also say I have a great body for a quarterback,” Mahomes said. “You’ve got to have some padding in there to take the hits that we take.” As the Chiefs begin Phase Three of their offseason activities, OTAs provide the first opportunities for 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills. These sessions, running from May 20-22, May 28-30, and June 4-7, are crucial for the team’s 2024 preparations.
Mahomes’ presence during these voluntary practices is essential. He not only mentors the younger players but also strengthens the team’s chemistry. His leadership shines as he collaborates with veteran stars such as Travis Kelce and promising newcomers like Jared Wiley, who made a standout touchdown catch during red zone drills. Mahomes remains the driving force behind this championship-level team, guiding them through the offseason with his experience and skill.
