EX-NFL star Jason Kelce has said he would love to play for a Philadelphia Eagles team with star running Saquon Barkley on the roster. The retired Eagles star predicted his former team will be competitive in 2024, causing him to feel some regrets over ending his career. Kelce, 36, opened up about his early retirement days in a new episode of the New Heights podcast.

The former All-Pro center told his brother Travis he’s yet to fully process the fact his playing days are over. “It feels zero different,” Kelce said. “I’ve actually still gone down the facility to get a couple weightlifting sessions in. “I’m a creature of habit, I don’t know. “I feel no different. I’m assuming once organized team activities start up, training camps and the season starts rolling around, it will really start to hit a little bit more.”

Kelce said he’s been “pretty positive” he wants to retire when asked about a potential U-turn by fans in the aftermath of Barkley’s move to Philadelphia. However, the NFL icon admitted to feeling “a little bit upset” that general manager Howie Roseman “waited ’til I retired to make a move like” the signing of the two-time Pro Bowl running back.

The ex-New York Giants star inked a three-year, $37.7 million deal with Philly earlier this week. “This is what I’m regretting,” Kelce added. “I knew when I retired that I was going to miss an outstanding season for the Philadelphia Eagles. “And it sucks, it really does. I want to be a part of this so bad, I wish I could.” Kelce earned six All-Pro honors, seven Pro Bowl nods, and won one Super Bowl title in 13 years with the Eagles.

The Ohio native is now widely expected to start a sportscasting career. His charisma and storytelling skills have already earned him one media award with New Heights recently claiming the iHeartRadio Podcast of the Year title.
