BREAKING: Is this the world’s most expensive football ticket? Real Madrid create 300 ‘Super VIP’ seats – worth £210k per seat – as part of £1.5bn renovation of iconic Bernabeu home
Real Madrid have transformed the Santiago Bernabeu into more than just a stadium, it is a masterpiece of architectural design. Long gone are the days when you would rock up to a football ground expecting to be put into a cramped seating area with an uncomfortable upright plastic seat where the only foods on offer are lukewarm burgers and hotdogs.
We have entered into a new era of football, where hosting a game is no longer just to fulfill a fans passion but it is now seen as a business opportunity. Club owners no longer just see their stadium’s as a ground where people come to watch their beloved teams play but instead they have realized the valuable income opportunity for having a state-of-the-art football venue. Real Madrid were one of the first to recognize this, and completed a renovation thought to have cost £1.5bn to upgrade their already iconic stadium.
Besides the addition of more seats, a retractable roof and VIP nightclub, the stadium plan to build 300 ‘Super VIP’ seats worth a staggering €250k each – making it one of, if not the most expensive seats in football and even potentially beyond. According to Relevo, Real Madrid have created 300 ‘Super VIP’ seats. The seats were designed with nothing but luxury and exclusivity in mind, they are separate from the stands and offer the best possible view of the pitch within the stadium.
Located in the first amphitheater, those who have the funds to acquire one of the seats, will have access to exclusive food, drinks and other products, as well as unique experiences such as live shows.
