Since the flop project couldn’t recover the money for Costner, his lavish apartment in Santa Barbara estate is now at risk. According to a Blast report, there has been a critical issue around his apartment and a delay in the future installments of the movie.
Costner, probably not after getting due investors, invested a major chunk of his own money, amounting nearly $38 million, in Horizon: The American Saga, which is a $100 million project, that flopped at the box office. Costner is also recently divorced, and has to pay up a $60,000-plus amount on a monthly basis for child support.
These factors have aligned together and created a major financial issue and has also landed his prized Santa Barbara residence in the bargain.
According to reports, Costner ignored warnings from his well-wishers around investing his own money in the $100 million project, which has now proven costly.
Even the hopes of recovering the amount from subsequent project is also in a gray area after the first part’s poor performance has halted the proceedings towards a sequel.
