Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet became one of the most iconic couples on-screen after starring in James Cameron’s 1997 blockbuster Titanic.
The movie features the duo in the lead roles of Rose and Jack, and surprisingly, they showcased incredible chemistry despite meeting for the first time at the movie’s set. Titanic went on to be a massive hit and is still considered among some of the best romance movies. This week, the film has been re-released in 4K Ultra HD, prompting Winslet to reminisce about her collaboration with DiCaprio in the Oscar-winning masterpiece.
As a re-mastered 4K Ultra HD version of Titanic hit the screen earlier this week, Kate Winslet shared her experience working with Leonardo DiCaprio. In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, the 48-year-old actress shared that she and her co-star “clicked immediately” after meeting on the set of the 1997 film. She said,.
The Oscar-winning actress also shared that she had a feeling that she and the Revolutionary Road actor would get along pretty well and would have fun making the film. “And we just really did. We just really did,” she recalled.
Winslet also recalled the “curious” nature of her co-star, noting his deep fascination with the period details related to the boat. The duo, who first met in 1996 while starring in James Cameron’s film, have since developed a strong friendship and mutual respect for each other.
