‘It’s really Disturbing’ – How Jason Kelce’s Family Has Been Affected by Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s “Crazy” Fame

Jason Kelce shared insight into the fanfare surrounding brother Travis Kelce’s romance with Taylor Swift and how the new level of fame has affected him and wife Kylie Kelce. The camera flashes may make it look like a dream, but Jason Kelce isn’t necessarily sure he’s the lucky one.

Indeed, the former Philadelphia Eagles center recently shared how his brother Travis Kelce’s headline-making relationship with Taylor Swift has impacted the entire Kelce family—including him and wife Kylie Kelce. It’s been crazy,” Jason admitted on a June 7 episode of The Whiskey Ginger podcast. “Travis and Taylor have taken it to another level and that’s a whole other side of it. Kylie and I think we have it bad and then we go hang out with one of them, and it’s like, ‘This is a whole other situation here.’ You can’t be a normal person at that point.”

And when host Andrew Santino suggested that Kylie—with whom Jason shares daughters Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 16 months—is arguably more famous than the former NFL star, he noted, “She should be.” Of course, Jason and Kylie did open up their own lives to the public with the 2023 documentary Kelce, about his journey in the NFL. However just a few weeks later, Travis and Taylor began dating publicly, taking the entire family’s life in the public eye to new heights. And the level of fame they’ve reached at this point has almost become too much for his wife.

“I think she’s a little bit uncomfortable with how much it’s become,” he continued. “I do think some of the other stuff she’s a little bit more hesitant and, ‘I didn’t really sign up for this.’ It’s big and our family’s out there and people know what our kids look like. We’ve tried to retract from that a little bit.” However, Jason also acknowledged how Kylie, 32, has seen the positives in the family’s newfound fame—specifically in how she can help others.

She enjoys the fact that she gets to go and do charitable outings,” he explained. “She gets to give back to the community. She gets to do clinics with little girls for field hockey and all these other things. She enjoys that aspect of it.” And while the 36-year-old admitted that he and his wife don’t always love being approached when they’re out in public, especially when the interaction isn’t positive, he emphasized that “the vast majority of people are beyond respectful and appreciative and you realize we’re in a position of great fortune to be where we’re at.”

As for how Jason thinks Travis is handling it all? “I think he’s stayed true to himself,” Jason shared. “He’s humble. He treats everyone with the utmost respect, like they’re equals, regardless of who they are.” For his own part, Travis has vocalized that while his new level of fame is unprecedented, he isn’t fighting the alchemy when it comes to his relationship with Taylor.

“I’ve never dealt with it,” Travis told WSJ. Magazine in November. “But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it.” He also praised Taylor’s ability to handle a scene when the couple is out there in plain sight. “The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life,” he gushed. “When she acts like that I better not be the one acting all strange.” Keep reading to see why a love like Taylor and Travis’ only happens every few lifetimes.
