Jason Kelce insists brother Travis ‘hasn’t changed one bit’ amid Taylor Swift romance: ‘He’s such a unique individual’
Despite now being one half of the most famous celebrity couple on the planet, Jason Kelce is adamant that his brother Travis hasn’t changed one bit. Travis has been thrust into the spotlight like never before amid his whirlwind romance with Taylor Swift, with the loved-up pair dominating headlines across the globe over the past year.
While he was already an all-time NFL great before meeting her, Kelce’s fame skyrocketed to new heights when Swift attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game in September, and his popularity is only growing as they go from strength to strength. Yet according to his brother, the Chiefs tight end has not let the increased attention go to his head.
I don’t think anybody has changed really,’ Jason said about Swift’s effect on the Kelce family on the Whiskey Ginger podcast with Andrew Santino. ‘Listen, we’re always getting older and wiser and evolving our opinions. ‘I think Trav, he’s a very comfortable person in almost any scenario. He’s such a unique individual. I’ve never seen him uncomfortable anywhere.
‘I haven’t seen him change one bit. I think it’s a compliment. He’s stayed true to himself; he’s still humble, he treats everyone with the upmost respect like they’re equals, regardless of who they are.’ Jason, who brought the curtain down on his iconic 13-year NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this year, also revealed that he turns to his younger brother for advice on frequent occasions.
I ask Travis’ opinion on a lot of things because Travis, and I really mean this, has some of the best instincts just in general of anybody I’ve ever talked to,’ he continued. ‘And nine times out of 10, I’ll comment something and I’m trying to think it out, and I’m going somewhere with it… and he just says something so point blank. ‘He has the ability to just think of things and cut away all the bulls**t outside of what you’re trying to figure out. He’s helped me make a lot of big decisions in my life that way.’
Before Taylor came onto the scene, the Kelce brothers famously locked horns in the 2023 Super Bowl, with Travis and Kansas City getting the better of Jason and Philadelphia. The legendary NFL siblings have also formed one of the most successful sports podcasts around in ‘New Heights’, which now boasts almost two-and-a-half million subscribers.
