LATEST: Brittany Mahomes blames her hero hubby Patrick for home invasion, she injured herself trying to flee the scene
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was called on by his wife, Brittany, to protect their home when an unwanted guest showed up. The panic amplified when Patrick thought he saw the intruder and Brittany nearly injured herself as she looked for a way out, capturing it all on camera.
“Almost broke my ankle…” she wrote on her Instagram story, detailing the scary home invasion. However, the person to blame for that was her “hero” hubby, Patrick. Trouble started brewing earlier in the day, although Mrs. Mahomes didn’t realize it at first. She had posted an Instagram story hours earlier showing a “mommy duck” outside their house, stating “I love that she feels safe at our house.”
The feeling of safety wore away as the mother of two got wise to the fact that a protective mother duck could be a threat to the Mahomes’ 3-year-old daughter, Sterling and 1-year-old son, Bronze. So she called on the three-time Super Bowl MVP to protect the family. “I’m not about to get attacked by no duck,” she said in the Instagram video. “You’re on guard.”
The Chiefs QB clearly wasn’t worried about the wildlife and decided to play a sick joke on his high school sweetheart instead. “It’s right there!” Patrick said, causing his wife to nearly roll her ankle as she jumped back in fear. Eventually, the Mahomeses ceded to their new neighbors, leaving the duck alone outside. With the crisis averted, they can turn to more pressing matters, like the amazing thing they saw on Bronze’s baby cam.
