BAD BLOOD Kim Kardashian ‘upset’ over Taylor Swift diss track and had ‘no idea’ about it as star ‘loses 100k Instagram followers’ Plus, more details on Kim and Taylor’s long-standing feud
Taylor’s new album, The Tortured Poets Department, released last week, featured a hateful song about Kim, reigniting their 8-year-long feud.
The song, thanK you aiMee, has been one of the more buzzed-about tracks off the highly anticipated album, and Kim, 43, reportedly wasn’t pleased with the callout. “Kim isn’t happy about it but doesn’t want to add fuel to the fire,” a source told US Weekly about The Kardashians star’s reaction. Taylor’s lyrics are speculated to be about her long-standing rift with Kim and her ex-husband, Kanye West, 46.
However, while the Bad Blood singer got some harbored feelings off her chest, the insider claimed Kim “had no idea she was going to be a part of this narrative.” Despite this, the source noted that the Skims founder “did think this could happen at some point knowing how Taylor writes her music.” Taylor, 34, is known for writing songs about her past relationships with many high-profile celebrities. Though she typically doesn’t refer to anyone by name, the song’s title made it clear that it was about Kim, given that she capitalized the letters in the Hulu star’s name.
Kim hasn’t addressed the diss track herself, but seemed unbothered during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, telling the host, “Life is good.” However, Taylor’s song has affected the beauty mogul in a big way, as she lost more than 100,000 Instagram followers since its drop. Fans previously speculated that Kim was trolling the Grammy Award winner by collaborating with several of Taylor’s close friends for her Skims campaigns.
On Tuesday, the Skkns founder again raised eyebrows when she posted a throwback selfie on her Instagram Stories, including her sister, Khloe Kardashian, and Taylor’s former BFF, Karlie Kloss. Taylor’s song rubbed some fans the wrong way as they claimed the pop star went too far by publicly shading Kim. “With how successful Taylor is now, it’s really pathetic that she’s still talking about this,” one fan slammed on a popular online thread.
“It screams immature and irrelevant. Move on girl. We all have,” said another. “I’ll never look at her the same way,” added a third. The feud started in 2016 after Kim claimed to GQ magazine that Taylor approved her then-husband Kanye’s song Famous, which included an NSFW lyric about the performer. “She totally approved that; she wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t,” the TV star told the publication.
“I swear, my husband gets so much s**t for things [when] he was doing proper protocol and even called to get it approved.” Kim reignited their battle the following year by posting a throwback photo of the Love Story singer’s naked wax lookalike, which appeared in Kanye’s Famous video. Taylor had previously had beef with Kanye after he stormed the VMA stage in 2009 when she accepted the award for Best Video of a Female Artist.
The rapper publicly claimed that Beyonce should’ve won the award over the Wildest Dreams singer. Taylor later revealed that Kanye called her to apologize.
